If you haven’t yet heard of the internet sensation that is Honest Toddler, then you are in for a treat! Go check out Honest Toddler’s twitter account, but be forewarned, you may find it hard to leave – and to stop laughing. The tweets are written in the candid, hilarious and irreverent style of a very observant young child… a child with an awful lot to say. Best of all, now there is the Honest Toddler book for those of us who just can’t get enough of the always entertaining posts.
I have followed along with Honest Toddler’s twitter/facebook/blog for some time and, like HT’s other fans, I wait eagerly to read the latest sarcastic and witty comments. The book, which is written “under the supervision” of Bunmi Laditan, did not disappoint. It is filled with useful tips for parents about everything from preferred potty training methods (“not potty trained, not trying”), toddler foods (keep the cake coming and the apple juice undiluted) and playdate etiquette (mi casa es not su casa).
The Honest Toddler made me laugh out loud because I can clearly imagine toddlers all over the world agreeing with most, if not all, of what HT has to say. Is is without a doubt the funniest parenting book I have read all year!
Happy reading! I leave you with these words of wisdom from HT:
