Chu's Day - Book Review

Little M and I are always looking for wonderful new picture books to add to our home library. We came across Chu’s Day recently and it has quickly become one of our favorites. The book, written by Neil Gaiman and illustrated by Adam Rex, introduces readers to a lovable little panda named Chu. The biq question throughout the book is whether Chu will sneeze, because you see “when Chu sneezed, bad things happened.”

Little M and I enjoy reading this book. The illustrations are vibrant and colorful and we love all the details, especially Chu’s aviator goggles. Our favorite scene is when Chu and his mother visit the library, where we see a number of other animals including an elephant, giraffe, rabbit and mice. And of course, there is a lot of book dust…

Chu then visits a diner with his father. When his father asks if he will sneeze, Chu answers “Ah, Ah, Ah…No” – we always giggle at that!  Will Chu sneeze or won’t he? Don’t miss this book for a story about pandemonium and a panda.
