The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays

Ree Drummond, aka the Pioneer Woman, is back with a new cookbook filled with simple holiday recipes to make your celebrations both delicious and memorable!

The Pioneer Woman Cooks

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Ree Drummond, her blog, The Pioneer Woman, became an internet sensation and was soon followed by her very popular Food Network show, where she shares her family recipes and stories about life on a ranch in Oklahoma. Her cookbooks are just as incredible as her blog and TV show, and her latest cookbook, The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays, does not disappoint. I love that Drummond structures this book according to a year of holidays, and provides recipes that are appropriate for a range of celebrations, from the perfect Super Bowl menu to a 4th of July feast to a lovely Thanksgiving meal, there’s a little bit of everything.

Best of all, these recipes can be made, and enjoyed, all year long. Little M and I spent time browsing throughout this book and boy did he love the pictures of the animals on the farm, especially the horses and dogs!

He also pointed out many (so many) of the recipes and we have now bookmarked about half of the book with dishes to try out at home! Drummond includes lots of pictures as a step by step guide with her recipes, which is such a help when making something new.

We made her Broccoli Cheese Soup and it was just so good and kid-friendly. Yum! Perfect for a quiet dinner at home or for a simple dinner party – Little M just adored the bread bowl – what kid (or adult, ahem) wouldn’t love that? PS: Check out this great article about Ree at home, including pictures and delicious recipes!
